Jacobs and Palantir partner on digital water O&M

NYSE-listed engineering giant Jacobs has announced a strategic collaboration with US data analytics company Palantir Technologies that will initially focus on the optimisation of water and wastewater operations.

The partnership will look to commercialise a new joint data analytics platform which will aggregate and analyse data from treatment plant operations to reduce costs, improve performance, and protect against cyber-threats. The intention is to combine Palantir’s operating system with Jacobs’ own process optimisation tools, such as its Replica digital twin software.

As one of the leading operators of municipal water and wastewater systems in the US, Jacobs will be able to leverage the new joint analytics offering across its existing contract portfolio.
